Debut album by Russian black metal band Plaha finally released on CD. "Urodstvo" (Ugliness), the first album by Saint Petersburg-s Plaha, initially released digitally in 2022, is now available on CD for the first time. This physical release is a joint effort by the MoreHate and ARX labels. The album stands as a raw and unflinching gaze into the abyss—the bands first, utterly exposed scream of pain that marked the beginning of their journey. Back in 2022, Plaha played a grim, ascetic form of depressive metal. Monotonous guitars and chaotic screams fused into a single instrument for conveying pure emotion — pain and loss. The albums sound is like a gaping wound: crude and intentionally raw. The musicians were not seeking beauty; they were documenting a state of being. The lyrics are a desperate dialogue with inner demons, an exploration of isolation and existential dread. Following this release, the band did not stand still, beginning a movement towards a more structured and melodic sound.
