"Dark Bloody Nights" is already the fourth album in the last two years from the young, now one-man project from Russia. With the release of this album, an obvious fact began to emerge. It seems that Forester, the man behind the project, is mainly interested in two overarching themes when it comes to lyrics and musical experiments: the first is melancholic-gothic and emotional, infused with post-black metal reflections on melancholy, depression, and loneliness; the second theme revolves around occult-witchcraft, vampiric, and fairy-tale motifs, presented with a more theatrical and dense performance style alongside the lyrics. This fourth album continues conceptually from the second full-length release, "Gloomy Dreams". The ten atmospheric tracks presented on this album sound even more measured, viscous, and doom-laden this time around. The metal compositions are interspersed with three dark dungeon synth/ambient pieces, which further immerse the listener in an atmosphere of the mystical and the secretive. The overarching theme of the album is a disdain for humanity and an empathy towards witches and the unclean, secret meanings hidden in the night, Walpurgis Night, and similar themes… In summary, in terms of music, it remains the same cross-genre Dark Metal. Listening to the album evokes imagery reminiscent of Bulgakov, something from Bosch. Scenes of occult rituals, bonfires, and witches sabbaths. An atmosphere of grim blasphemy, but without overt satanism.
