More Hate Productions presents two opuses by LIGHT? - a one-man project from Yaroslavl (Russia) — released in a double-CD format. The first disc contains "Kem Ya Bil?” (Who I Was) — a full-length album dated 2023. Despite the name, it is not an autobiographical album. It is rather an attempt to have a look back and analyze the past. As for the music, it invites listeners on a polystylistic journey across the airy ambient/symphonic landscapes with the shades of jazz and along the walls of tragic guitar noise with black metal elements. The music is traditionally devoid of vocals. Instead of singing it has pieces of spoken texts from both famous and less known movies interwoven into it: “Dead Mans Letters” (directed by K. Lopushansky), “Autumn Sonata” (directed by |. Bergman), “The Lonely Voice of Man” (directed by A. Sokurov), “Sacrifice” (directed by A. Tarkovsky). The second CD contains “Veta” EP, also dated 2023. It consists of three songs that did not end up on the full-length album, because in the opinion of Evgeny Churkin, the mastermind of the project, they did not fit the full-length in terms of mood and the music itself.
